Planning for ARCS' 2006 Hudson Valley AIDS WALK kicked off with a flourish when Nancy Cozean, Mayor of Poughkeepsie, served as Honorary Chair of the event. "We were so pleased and proud that she agreed to head up the event," said Bill Primavera, ARCS director of public relations and development. We knew that her presence on the Walk Committee helped us develop a good following in our new location."
Poughkeepsie Mayor Nancy Cozean reviewed promotional materials for the 2006 Hudson Valley AIDS WALK.

AIDS WALK Hudson Valley 2005
The 14th Annual AIDS WALK Hudson Valley 2005 took place again at Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla, NY, on October 1. The 3-mile fundraising walk was a success! Several hundred people throughout the Hudson Valley gathered in Kensico Dam Plaza to help raise HIV/AIDS awareness in our area.
In addition to the 3-mile Walk, participants enjoyed a flea market, fun for kids, including face painting. Starbucks donated breakfast. Funds raised by the AIDS WALK support HIV-prevention and education programs, provide services and transportation, and help people with HIV/AIDS in the Hudson Valley live with dignity. The Walk raised over $60,000 to date for HIV/AIDS services and prevention education.
ARCS would like to thank all of those who attended and all of those unable to attend who forwarded donations for their generosity.
ARCS is the largest organization solely dedicated to providing services to individuals and families infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS in New York's seven county region of Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster and Westchester. It reaches more than 25,000 people each year through client services, prevention education and community outreach.
Open House
On September 16, 2003, more than fifty
clients, service providers, and politicians helped us
celebrate the relocation of our West-chester County office
to Hawthorne! The new office is located just four miles
north of our former Elmsford site at 40 Saw Mill River
Road. Guests enjoyed a wonderful selection of appetizers
and salads donated by Antun's of Westchester, cookies
courtesy of Homestyle Bakery in Peekskill, and cakes
donated by Greyston Bakery in Yonkers. Paul Callagy,
ARCS Board President, led a ribbon cutting ceremony
at the front door to officially open the office. Thank
you to all of you who joined us for this special occasion,
and a special thanks to the eateries that supplied us
with delicious food!
